What is a Christian Science Reading Room?
A Reading Room offers everyone a great place to further their spiritual study. It offers a quiet place to do some serious studying and research. To enhance your Bible study research are several translations of the Holy Bible, Bible commentaries, Bible dictionaries, and concordances, including Concord, a computer based concordance for the King James Bible. Concord also includes Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, and The Christian Science Hymnal. Also available are copies of the acclaimed weekly international newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, uplifting and comforting inspirational music CDs, and recordings of healings accomplished through prayer by applying Christian Science. Most of the items mentioned are available to borrow or purchase.
Internet access provides an easy means to view church related websites such as The Mother Church’s main website, www.christianscience.com, and that of the Christian Science Monitor, www.csmonitor.com.
Our Reading Room also has all the literature and publications by Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, including her primary work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
There are several items designed for young people from preschool age on. These include story books about the Bible characters, CDs with children’s songs and stories, pamphlets on the Ten Commandments, and Beatitudes and much more.
