In the late 1870s a New England woman, Mary Baker Eddy was an author and teacher who had discovered a way to heal through prayer following the laws of God as practiced by Jesus in his ministry. Her primary work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures changed the way many people thought about health care. In addition to a weekly and monthly magazine, Mrs. Eddy founded The Christian Science Monitor, an international newspaper still published today. |
